Transforming lives through
art and care

Creative care in Surrey since 1984

Artventure is a Guildford based charity enabling adults with learning difficulties to be creative, have fun, and make new friends in a safe and sociable environment. We are currently offering free taster days so why not come along to see what we do! Call 01483 304884 to find out more.

What We Do

Practising artists and volunteers help participants develop both creative and social skills. All areas of the visual arts are explored including painting, textiles, ceramics, sculpture and mixed media. The positive and supportive atmosphere encourages self-confidence and independence.

Our fees only cover part of our costs with the rest coming from grants and donations. The National Lottery and Arts Council England have been tremendously supportive but in many ways it's the smaller donations that can make all the difference. Please help in any way you can.

The Artventure Mural

In september 2013, The Electric Theatre in Guildford asked Artventure to design and paint a mural showing "Community".

After many months of hard work, the 32-metre project was unveiled by the Mayor in June 2015.

Painted by some of the area's most vulnerable children and adults, it is a tribute to the power of art to change lives. Find out more.

Surrey Hills Food festival

What a great day Artventure had at the Surrey Hills Food festival on Saturday with many of the cows from the CowParade on display. We asked children to paint cows for themselves on to our large canvas, with wonderful results as you can see! This was the last time we will see our lovely Locomootive cow before she goes to auction in October. We hope she finds a good home!

Our annual Three Day Summer Workshop will be running from Tuesday 16th to Thursday 18th of August, 9.30am to 2.30pm. This year we will we exploring the theme of Playing with Portraits. Surrey cowparade

Our wonderful cow has a new name and a new home. Locomootive has made her way to Dorking Halls where she will be on display throughout July and August. Sponsored by Great Western Railway, the green goddess is one of dozens of cows popping up all over the county as part of the 2016 Surrey Cow Parade. At the end of the exhibition the cows will be auctioned off to raise money for local community projects across Surrey.
Surrey Cowparade

Our entry in the Surrey Hills CowParade, the lovely Mooranda, is now finished, and she just awaits her final varnish. Well done to all the artists who designed the images that adorn this bovine beauty, and a big thank you to Anne, Sandra, Margaret, Lyanne and the two Steves who painted her. Take a look at a video of Mooranda in all her green glory!
