Transforming lives through
art and care

Creative care in Surrey since 1984

Artventure is a Guildford based charity enabling adults with learning difficulties to be creative, have fun, and make new friends in a safe and sociable environment. We are currently offering free taster days so why not come along to see what we do! Call 01483 304884 to find out more.

What We Do

Practising artists and volunteers help participants develop both creative and social skills. All areas of the visual arts are explored including painting, textiles, ceramics, sculpture and mixed media. The positive and supportive atmosphere encourages self-confidence and independence.

Get Involved

Volunteers are always most welcome at The Artventure Trust, regardless of age or experience. A few hours of your time can make a real difference. We have volunteers from all walks of life, so please don't hesitate to get in touch if you think you are interested in getting involved.

Get in touch

Our fees only cover part of our costs with the rest coming from grants and donations. The National Lottery and Arts Council England have been tremendously supportive but in many ways it's the smaller donations that can make all the difference. Please help in any way you can.

The Artventure Mural

In september 2013, The Electric Theatre in Guildford asked Artventure to design and paint a mural showing "Community".

After many months of hard work, the 32-metre project was unveiled by the Mayor in June 2015.

Painted by some of the area's most vulnerable children and adults, it is a tribute to the power of art to change lives. Find out more.

Artventure News

Guildford exhibition

A small selection of our participants' artwork is currently on display at The Electric Theatre in Guildford Town Centre. Why not pop down to take a look at their wonderful work. You can also see how our 32 metre mural on the wall outside the theatre has coped with its second winter. It'll be two years this June since this little corner of Guildford was transformed forever.
Art materials

Happy new year from everyone at Artventure! The end of 2016 saw a sad farewell to two of our most valued and longest serving members of staff Anne and Sandra. A huge thank you to both of them for their time, energy and passion throughout the years. They will be missed! However, with wonderful new manager Lyanne Margadant at the helm, Artventure is looking forward to the coming year with lots of exciting projects in store.
Art materials

Artventure often relies on the generosity of the local community to enable us to continue to provide our care and service. Of course, financial donations are tremendously important, but we are also very grateful for any art materials you can spare. Whether it's paints, paper, pencils or canvases, we promise to give them a good home! If you can help in any way, please call 01483 304884 or email us at
Peter Rush workshop

Thank you so much to the Dorset based artist Peter Rush for coming along to Artventure to teach us how to create sculptures using chicken wire and paper towel. Take a look above at the amazing birds we made! We also welcomed our friends from the wonderful Halow Project to share our new skills and techniques. Everyone had tremendous fun!
